Services & Sustainabiity

For me, service is about responsibility, not just to people, but to systems, communities, and the future we’re shaping together. I’m drawn to work that supports access, dignity, and sustainability, whether that means creating educational spaces for young children, advocating for mental health inclusion, or contributing to environmental initiatives.

These experiences have helped me see how deeply connected social and environmental challenges are and how even small, consistent efforts can push conversations and outcomes in the right direction. Service isn’t something I do on the side of my learning. It’s how I’ve learned to understand the world more fully.

  •  Arts and Crafts with Anglican Care Centre: This service involved weekly interactive art sessions with residents at a psychiatric rehabilitation centre. Through crafts and simple creative activities, we helped foster social interaction, reduce stress, and create a safe space for expression. Working closely with individuals facing mental health challenges gave me a deeper understanding of the stigma around mental illness and the importance of inclusion and empathy in building community.
  • Volunteer with NParks: As a volunteer for Singapore’s One Million Trees movement, I contributed to the country’s reforestation initiative by planting trees in urban and park areas. It was a hands-on way to support local biodiversity and climate resilience, and it gave me a tangible connection to sustainability goals I care deeply about.
  • Kidz4Kidz: Kids4Kids is a 24-hour global online concert featuring over 250 young musicians from around the world, coming together to raise funds for children’s causes. I had the opportunity to serve as the event’s Emcee, helping guide the event across time zones, introducing performers, and keeping the audience engaged throughout the broadcast. I also participated as a fundraiser and was proud to place 2nd overall for the most funds raised. This experience blended performance, public speaking, and advocacy, and showed me how creativity and community can create meaningful global impact.
  • Kayaking to Collect Sea Debris: This was a one-day initiative where I teamed up with my dad and brother to kayak and remove sea debris along Singapore’s coastline. We ended up placing second, collecting around 20 kg of waste. It was a physically challenging but rewarding experience that made the environmental impact of marine pollution feel very real and personal.
  • Surfaid: As part of the SurfAid marketing team, I contributed to raising awareness and funds for maternal and child health in remote communities like Rote Island, Indonesia. I helped create promotional content and supported event outreach for Swimdonesia, our flagship fundraiser, where students swim laps and collect sponsorships. It was a meaningful opportunity to combine cause-driven communication with impact: over the years, the initiative had raised nearly $100,000 for SurfAid’s work.

   ○ Event planned and executed: Swimdonesia – Collective with global concern groups to raise funds and awareness

Flora and Fauna: In this service, I worked with children from lower-income families at the 7Oaks childcare centre. I helped plan and lead weekly sessions that focused on nature and environmental learning, from themed storytelling to hands-on crafts that encouraged curiosity and fine motor development. Through this experience, I gained insight into the importance of accessible early education while building communication and leadership skills through direct interaction with children and staff.

  • Tetra Pak train-the-trainer programme: Assisted in training kindergarteners on effective Tetra Pak recycling methods and progressed to independently leading these educational events.
  • Sembawang Green Wave project: Organized and conducted fundraising workshops to support conservation efforts for endangered monkeys in Singapore, successfully raising funds donated to WWF through engaging community initiatives.
  • Green Umbrella Marketing Head: As Marketing Head for Green Umbrella, I led strategic marketing efforts to promote sustainability initiatives, including digital campaigns and event promotions. I also developed partnerships and created

engaging content to raise awareness and drive community participation.

Summer Internship in India for Schools in Rural Areas: Educated students regarding online safety and proper usage of technology and social media in a digitised world, menstrual cycles, and English lessons, promoting leadership through education.
